Nagpur: 15-year-old boy dies after being hit, dragged 10-feet on road by car

A Nagpur teenager, aged about 15 years, died after he fell of a parked bike and was later hit and dragged 10-feet on the road by a passing car near Bahadura Phata on Sunday. The victim identified as Ritesh Palandure, a Std IX student, died on the spot.


As per reports, Palandure was riding pillion on the bike of an acquaintance, Ritesh Chaure, who had come to pick him up from the main road. As Chaure did not know the way to Palandures residence, the victim sat behind him guiding the way to reach his house.

On their way to Palandures house, Chaure parked the bike on the side of the road to relax for a while. Suddenly, Palandure lost his balance and fell off the parked bike. As he fell, Palandure was hit by a car which was coming from behind. Unable to control the speed the four-wheeler, the driver dragged the victim for a couple of feet before he managed to bring it to halt. 

After the incident, the driver picked Palandure and rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to seek medical assistance but was unfortunately declared brought dead.

Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
