More than a decade old Nagpur NGO ‘Zero Gravity,’ which was founded by late Dr Shrikant Jichkar, recently celebrated its 11th anniversary by conducting ‘Project Happiness’ with great zeal at Sandipani School in Nagpur.

Hundreds of volunteers on Sunday ensured the event, which was headed and managed by Yajnavalkya and Maitreyi Jichkar (son and daughter of late Dr Shrikant Jichkar resp.), was a success.

Around 1000 children from various shelter homes, across the city, had a gala time at the daylong event. The NGO through such events enlightens the lives of underprivileged, differently-abled and orphans.

The children were all smiles as they participated in various games – Reindeer Ring Toss, Happy Feet Face, Basket Ball, etc. Not just games, but the volunteers also ensured the children indulged in mouth-watering feasts.

When Nation Next spoke to Maitreyi Jichkar, she said, “Every year we organise this event for children from multiple shelter homes across the city called ‘Project Happiness’ with a purpose to bring them a smile. We started off by trying to create a difference in the lives of 150 children and today, it’s been more than a decade; we are impacting around1000 children.”
