Saoner Congress workers stage ‘Chakka Jam’ protest against Centre’s farm laws
In a move to show solidarity with the on-going farmer’s protest at the Delhi- Haryana- Gazipur border against farm laws, Congress workers staged Chakka-Jam? protest at Saoner (Nagpur), on Saturday.
Vice President of Nagpur Zilla Parishad Manohar Kumbhare, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Sunil Kedar and Youth Congress workers organised the Chakka-Jam? protest, in which they burned tires, shouted slogans and called to support farmers in their fight against dictator BJP.
The protest started by 11 am at the Gandhi Putla in Saoner and farmers from outskirts of the Taluka supported it with their bullock carts and tractor march.
Jai Jawan Jai Kisan, Revoke the three black laws, the protesters shouted.
The protest stopped all the vehicles coming through the area and locked the boundaries with bikes and human chains.
The Chakka-Jam protest is being carried out across the nation.

Nagpur District Yuva Sena workers rip banner put up in Eknath Shinde’s support

A Nagpur District Yuva Sena worker ripping banner supporting Eknath Shinde in city’s Gandhibagh area
Members of Yuva Sena, led by Nagpur District Yuva Sena chief Vikram Rathod, on June 25, ripped a banner supporting party member Eknath Shinde, which was placed at Chitaroli in Gandhibagh. Shinde, who’s leading a group of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs, is the man behind the current political crisis in Maharashtra.
Speaking to Nation Next, Vikram Rathod said: “Eknath Shinde was given so much love and respect by Shiv Sena and in return he has betrayed the party and Balasaheb Thackeray. We condemn his conduct. We are with Uddhavji. Any banner in the city supporting Eknath Shinde will be torn off by us in similar manner.”
Shiv Sena Nagpur Pramukh Pravin Barde, Dhiraj Fandi, Manoj Sahu, Sanjay Kasodhan, Vasant Dongre, along with other Shiv Sainiks were present when the banner was ripped off.

Disgruntled Ashish Deshmukh resigns as Maharashtra Congress General Secretary

Congress leader Ashish Deshmukh tendered his resignation as the General Secretary of MPCC to party Chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday, May 31.
Deshmukh said that the decision to resign was taken after the Congress nominated Imran Pratapgarhi from Maharashtra as Rajya Sabha candidate. Deshmukh said that although he has resigned from the post, he would remain in the party and continue to work for the same.
The list of Rajya Sabha candidates by Congress that stirred massive resent in the ranks, shortlisted 34-year-old Pratapgarhi – Congress minority department chairperson and a poet from Maharashtra. He had contested the Lok Sabha polls from Moradabad on a Congress ticket but lost his seat to a BJP candidate.

Political bigwigs gathered under one roof on May 29 to extend their wishes to veteran politician and former minister Ranjeet Deshmukh at ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ organised at Suresh Bhat auditorium in Nagpur to celebrate Deshmukh’s 75th birthday. Deshmukh turned 75 last year but celebrations could not be held due to the COVID pandemic.
Lok Sabha MP Shatrughan Sinha, former Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan, Maharashtra minister Balasaheb Thorat and other politicians were prominently present during the event. Deshmukh’s son Ashish Deshmukh and Dr Amol Deshmukh played perfect hosts to those who attended the event.
