BJP Corporator Dayashankar Tiwari
Nagpur BJP Corporator Dayashankar Tiwari, on Friday, came to rescue of a 57-year-old COVID-19 patient who was overcharged at a private hospital during the time of her discharge. After Tiwari intervened, the hospital reduced the bill of the COVID-19 patient from Rs 1.8 lakh to just Rs 40,000.
The 57-year-old COVID-19 positive woman was admitted at a private hospital in Dhantoli on October 4. The woman was kept in ICU for two days and in the general ward for four days. When she was finally discharged on October 9, the hospital handed over a bill of Rs 1.8 lakh to the woman’s son. Shocked after seeing the bill, the son demanded to get the bill checked by NMC auditor but the hospital did not budge.
The son then contacted Tiwari for help. After Tiwari intervened, the bill was reduced from Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 40,000. The hospital even gave Rs 20,000 back to the son as he had deposited an advance of Rs 60,000 during her mother’s admission at the hospital.

Nagpur citizens to revel The Raaas Garba next year!
Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”
He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
