Television actor from Nagpur Ratan Pratap wins ‘Host Of The Year’ award
Ratan Pratap
Tv host turned actor Ratan Pratap was awarded with Host & Entertainer Of The Year₹22? by India Fine Arts Council, at an award ceremony held in Mumbai.
Ratan received this recognition on the basis of his performance as the host for dance reality shows, Khoj? being the recent one. Ratan made his debut as a host a few years ago on a live broadcasting chat show, following which he went on to host shows on television.
Ratan Pratap says that he is elated to receive this award and that he wasn’t expecting it. I feel truly honoured that a Government body like India Fine Arts Council has bestowed upon me such an honour. It is rare to recognise and felicitate hosts in our industry but I am really grateful to IFAC for this. I am really thrilled. I put in a lot of hard work and I never speak about it publicly because I don’t believe in blowing my own trumpet. When a prestigious award such as this comes my way I feel like all the late nights and no sleep was worth it, he said.
The stylish lad has been making the news for right and wrong reasons. Whether it is turning down a web-series on a leading OTT platform or his recent wrist surgery, netizens are always abuzz with his updates.
To this he clarified, Everyone has their reasons to do or not do a project. I respect every piece of work being offered to me but sometimes things are just not meant to be. And wrt my wrist injury I have already given out a statement. There was never any surgery. I incurred an injury while performing at an award show and I have recovered now. I am looking forward to getting back to work in full force.
Ratan is said to be in talks with Abhinandan Sridhar, one of the leading OTT writers in India. The duo is speculated to be in the process of creating an original series set around a movie star whose career fails to take off.
About the same he said, I have literally had one meeting with Abhinandan. As of now we have nothing on paper. Not even a script. He is a fantastic writer and it reflects in his shows like Little Things and so many others. But it is really primitive to speak about it right now. We can’t make announcements on the basis of one discussion. It takes a lot to create an original series and to get it green-lit. I am just happy that he sees potential in me and my talent. That’s all that I can say.
