Nagpur experiences coldest day of season as mercury dips below 10°C

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Nagpur recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, which is so far the coldest day of this winter season.

It is also the first time in this winter season, that the minimum temperature has hit beyond 10 degree Celsius in the city.

Maximum temperature recorded on February 7 (Sunday) was 28.8 degree Celsius in Nagpur.

As per IMD, temperatures are likely to rise in the coming days.

Besides Nagpur, Pune and Malegaon recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degree Celsius, Nashik recorded 9.2 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature recorded in Akola was 10.8 degree Celsius, and Gondia 10.5 degree Celsius.

At a minimum temperature of 8.3°C on Thursday, January 30, Nagpur became the coldest city in Vidarbha followed by Gondia and Buldhana.

 

Hence, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Vidarbha for two days – Wednesday and Thursday (January 26 and 27).

After Nagpur recorded Maharashtra’s lowest minimum temperature temperature of 7.8°C on Monday, the mercury dipped further and recorded lowest minimum temperature of 7.6°C on Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Sunday, due to cold winds blowing from North India, Maharashtra would see a dip in mercury for the next 48 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Sunday, due to cold winds blowing from North India, Maharashtra would see a dip in mercury for the next 48 hours.
