Marriages, which took place in Madhya Pradesh secretly during lockdown in the month of May despite ban by the government have been declared illegal. Such couples will not be issued marriage certificates as per a latest order by state government.
After a ban on marriages in MP, many weddings were shifted to the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh but the order will not impact such marriages conducted in other states.
A few district collectors have now asked the registrar office not to issue any certificates for nuptials tied in May, failing which, even officials may be booked under section 188 for disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), says the order.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh Government, to contain the spread of COVID-19, had banned marriages in May. However, the ban was widely violated with 130 marriage ceremonies being ‘secretly’ conducted and at least 30 persons getting booked in 25 days.
Twitter to allot Blue, Grey, Gold check marks to users starting next week: Elon Musk
Twitter’s new verification program is all set to launch in the coming week, although with different colors this time. Elon Musk has announced that Twitter will start to manually allot Blue, Grey and Gold check marks to organizations, governments and Twitter Blue subscribers.
The decision came to surface following impersonation issues like – users buying the subscription plan and impersonating famous personalities to mislead people. The feature was rolled back soon after.
Musk elaborated on the topic by saying that the companies will get a gold check mark, government will get a grey check mark, and blue for celebrities or not. Calling the process painful but necessary, he further added, “Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week. Gold check for companies, grey check for the government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates.”
For Twitter Blue subscribers, users will get Blue Tick of verification along with priority in reach and display on the social networking site. All this, if you are willing to pay $8 in the US or ₹719 in India – per month.
If I’ve a genuine friendship with someone, that relationship is still labeled and that affects me: Kartik Aaryan
Kartik Aaryan is one such actor who’s relationship status is much talked about. Recently, in an interview, the actor spoke about his ‘friendships’ and ‘relationships’ getting labeled constantly. But, Karthik agrees with the fact that even though he’s used to living under media scrutiny, he’s not thick-skinned yet.
“I understand the price you pay for being an actor. You cannot run away from the fact that no one’s going to watch you or write about you. It’s something you chose to be in this movie world. So, I’ve agreed to the fact that my life will be out there for all. However, if there’s a genuine friendship somewhere, that relationship will still be labeled. And that kind of labeling creates a lot of issues between people sometimes. That’s not fair I believe. I’m already used to it, but I’m not thick-skinned yet,” he said in a candid chat.
Kartik, who’s kicked about his upcoming movie, ‘Freddy’, elaborated, “If there’s any negative news or rumour, it still affects me big time. And it hurts even more when I’ve not done anything, rumours are completely baseless. Having said that, I’m okay with things and have accepted the life of a film star. There’s not much privacy.”
