Nation Next has come to know from extremely reliable sources that Yug Tuli, one of the accused in Kamala Mills Fire Case, is about to surrender before Mumbai police on Tuesday (January 16) morning. Apparently, Yug was left with no option but to surrender, after the City Civil Court and Sessions Judge, Kalaghoda, Mumbai, rejected his anticipatory bail.
Yug, who belongs to Nagpur based Tuli family, is the co-owner of Mumbai pub Mojos Bistro, which was gutted in fire in the Kamala Mills fire tragedy that claimed 14 lives.
A close aide of Tuli family, on the condition of anonymity, told Nation Next that Yug, who got married last month, has slipped into depression because of the developments in the case.
An emotionally charged Yug told his lawyer Shyam Dewani that he was surrendering despite being innocent, informed our source, who claimed to have been privy to this conversation. When Nation Next spoke to Dewani, he refused to comment, saying that the case being sub judice, it was not appropriate for him to say anything. “Let law take its own course,” said Dewani when we goaded further.
Our source, however, informed us that Yug is supposed to have told Dewani that: “Even if I am innocent, I will have to allow the process of law to take its own course and thus I have made up my mind and I am now ready to surrender before the police authorities.”
Yug Tuli and Yug Pathak ? the co-owners of Mojos Bistro ? have been booked under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life and personal safety of others), 337 and 216r/w.34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Mumbai police arrested Yug Pathak, who’s the son of former Nagpur and Pune Police Commissioner KK Pathak, on January 6.
The prosecution claimed in the court that the fire started at Mojos Bistro due to flying charcoal blocks of hookah. The eyewitnesses and the fire brigade are said to have substantiated the prosecutions claim.
On January 8, Tuli was reportedly spotted at Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport where he was captured in the CCTV footage of the airport.
While the Kamala Mills fire tragedy claimed the lives of 14 people in Mumbai on December 29, 2017, more than 12 were injured after a massive fire broke out in the Kamala Mills compound.
I’m known for small and mid-budget films, so I can never enter 300 crore club: Ayushmann Khurrana
Ayushmann Khurrana is back with an action drama, ‘An Action Hero’. And the trailer of the film is a promising one, a real genre-bender for Ayushmann fans. The movie also has Jaideep Ahlawat playing the lead alongside Ayushmann. So when asked to comment on how many big stars are doing two-hero films these days, Ayushmann, who has always teamed up with actors playing strong characters, said, “Be it Annu Kapoor’s character in ‘Vicky Donor, Rajkummar Rao in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, Gajraj Rao in ‘Badhai Ho or Tabu in ‘Andhadhun’, all these characters were equally strong along with mine. So, I’ve never followed the trend. I work with actors who contribute to a film. Ultimately, it’s the film that’s a winner.”
Moreover, Ayushmann finds inspiration in Ajay Devgn. “I take a lot of inspiration from Ajay Devgn sir. Like in his film ‘Golmaal’, most of the punch lines were with other cast members, still he did the film. It’s important to keep your film before yourself. A good film is all about a collaboration between the actors, directors and everyone else.”
Ayushmann is one of the finest actors in Bollywood. But ask him if he ever feels the pressure of delivering hits, he said, “I always scout for fresh content. And have a tick list – like has this subject been done in Hindi cinema before? Is the subject original and pathbreaking? But once I do the film, I leave it to the audience whether to accept it or not. I want to give it my best in whatever I do. So, I don’t think I’ll ever be known for a 300 crore film. I’m known for small and mid-budget films. Hence, I can afford to take risks without pressure.”
