India to conduct world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, said India would be conducting world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive.
Hailing India’s achievements in the past few months, said that while battling a global pandemic, India gave more tech startups and unicorns (startup worth over a billion dollars) to the world than any other country.
The Prime Minister said the same while addressing the inauguration session of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference 2021.
Started by former Prime Minister late Atal Vajpayee Bihari, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated in India on January 9th to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community towards the development of India.
The day also commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Mumbai ( 9 January 1915).
Speaking on India’s Management of COVID-19, he said, India is one of the countries having the lowest fatality and highest recovery rate of COVI-19 cases. India is ready to save humanity with two home-made COVID-19 vaccines (Covaxin & Covishield). All eyes are on us. The world is waiting for India’s COVID-19 vaccine.
He further stated that the world was also waiting to see how India would run the world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive.
He went on to say that the lessons, which India learned during COVID-19, would inspire the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
?Being an Importer of medical supplies in the past, India now exports supplies like ventilators, PPE kits, masks, ICU beds and other essentials,” said Modi.
“Scientist and innovators of India used COVID-19 as an opportunity to innovate, as a result of which, we have more than one mode-made COVID-19 vaccine, the PM added.
