Health workers at GMCH test COVID-19 positive for 2nd time in three months

A few health workers at GMCH in Nagpur have tested positive for COVID-19 for the 2nd time in three months. Dr Avinash Gawande, Medical Superintendent, GMCH, while confirming the same told Nation Next that these health workers, which involve doctors and nurses, are absolutely fine and currently in home isolation. Dr Gawande informed that these people do not have any severe symptoms. Most of these health workers had earlier contracted COVID-19 in September, which saw a huge rise in the number of cases in the city.

On asking whether these health workers testing positive for the second time has something to do with the 28-year-old man, who returned from UK recently and is being treated at GMC, Dr Gawande said there’s no link between the two. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old man tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday but the administration is still awaiting the result of his swab sample from National Institute of Virology to check for presence of new strain of COVID-19.
