Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan, on Wednesday, November 18 was served with an Income Tax notice by the department. Earlier, the IT department had issued a notice to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar vis-?vis his poll affidavits submitted to the Election Commission (EC).
When asked whether the IT notice was issued to harass him as he was constantly ?targeting? the Modi government at the Centre over India’s economic condition and the recent farm laws, Chavan said that the BJP knew very well how to use its power.
The IT Department has been asked for a statement of his assets for the last 10 years and he is supposed to reply within 21 days. Chavan, as per a report by MirrorNow said, We are taking appropriate action in that regard.
He said the notice was part of the regular process of the Income-tax department.
However, the same report stated him by quoting, The BJP has a well-planned strategy on how to use power and for whom. Everything starts accordingly. A similar notice was issued to Sharad Pawar a few days back and now I have been sent a notice. I will give a proper explanation on that.
