In a shocking incident, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, on Thursday, said that the Central government, in a cabinet meeting secretly transferred Delhi government’s power to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and wanted to govern Delhi using a backdoor.
Sisodias reaction came after the Union Cabinet cleared a proposal giving Baijal more powers. Deputy CM Sisodia addressed a press conference at his office in Delhi and said, The BJP wants to govern Delhi. They are disrespecting the people’s choice (AAP govt.); going against the spirit of the constitution.
In 2015, when BJP tried to limit our powers, we took it to the Supreme Court and the Constitution Bench ruled in our favour. Delhi government has full authority to govern Delhi excluding police, public order and property. I fear that LG (Baijal) will stop our work and won’t let us govern, he added.
