Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said that BJP coined the term Love Jihad to divide India and create communal disharmony. Gehlot further said that Jihad has no place in love.
Gehlot tweeted: Love jihad is a word manufactured by the BJP to divide the nation and disturb communal harmony. Marriage is a matter of personal liberty, bringing a law to curb it is completely unconstitutional and it will not stand in any court of law. Jihad has no place in love.
Gehlots comment comes two days after Madhya Pradesh government announced that it is planning to bring a law to regulate interfaith marriages with a provision of five years in jail for forcible conversion. Just like MP, two other BJP-ruled states Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also announced plans to bring such a law.
Gehlot further wrote: They are creating an environment in the nation where consenting adults would be at the mercy of state power. Marriage is a personal decision & they are putting curbs on it, which is like snatching away personal liberty.
It seems a ploy to disrupt communal harmony, fuel social conflict & disregard constitutional provisions like the state not discriminating against citizens on any ground.

The survey that released pictures of the same showed increased levels of SO2 and NO2 not just in Nagpur but in cities including Chandrapur, Gondia and Amravati. Environmental experts have said that the matter was worrying from the point of view of the health of the residents as the pollution index in Nagpur saw an increase in all the three months of winter.
