In yet another example of how early treatment is necessary for people suffering from coronavirus, a 62-year-old woman weighing 172 kgs and having complications like asthma, diabetes and cancer recently recovered from COVID-19 at a Mumbai Hospital. 

The woman Mehnaz Lokhandwala, who spent around one month at Bombay Hospital, was admitted at the hospital at 2 am when her oxygen levels were only 83-84. Given her health conditions, doctors thought that putting her on a ventilator was risky. The woman was put on oxygen support for four days. As her condition worsened in spite of the treatment, she was later put on BiPap machine.

For the entire month Lokhandwala was on 15-litre oxygen support per day at the hospital. As her symptoms reduced, she was discharged from the hospital. She is now at home on only 1-litre oxygen support.
