Three-time National Award winning veteran actress Surekha Sikri passed away due to cardiac arrest sometime ago in Mumbai.

Surekha, who was 75, was ailing as she had suffered from a brain stroke in 2020 as well as a paralytic stroke in 2018.

She had developed complications that arose due to her second stroke.

Surekha is best remembered for her roles in film Badhaai Ho and popular television show Balika Vadhu to name a few.

The actress had arrived in a wheelchair to pick up her National Award for Badhaai Ho.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, she was a National School Drama graduate in 1971. While her father was in the Air Force, her mother was a teacher.

Surekha married Hemant Rege and together have a son Rahul Sikri.

Breaking: Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar dies of heart attack at 46

Actor Punneth Rajkumar, who was a superstar in the Kannada film industry passed away on Friday, October 29.
The 46-year-old superstar died of cardiac arrest. At 11 am today, he was hospitalised in Bengaluru after complaining of severe chest pain. Punneth Rajkumar was the son of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai shared this news on his Twitter account.
He wrote, “I am deeply shocked that Kannada celebrity Shri Puneeth Rajkumar died of a heart attack. The death of Kannadigar’s favourite actor, Appu, hascaused enormous loss to Kannada and Karnataka and I pray that God will have mercy on his soul and give his fans the power to endure this pain.”
