12-yr-old pregnant rape survivor approaches Bombay High Courts Nagpur Bench for abortion…
A 12-year-old child, who got pregnant after her fathers friend in Chandrapur raped her, approached the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesday to terminate her 23-week-old (over five months) pregnancy. The accused Yogesh Dohtare was arrested under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
Justice Vinay Deshpande instructed the dean of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) of Chandrapur to form a panel of five doctors including neurologist, pathologist, gynaecologist, radiologist and a cardiologist to examine the 12-year-old child and submit a report on her pregnancy. The 12-year-old has been asked to obtain necessary orders from the court for her abortion. However, as per the latest development, it has been learnt that there can be a possibility of the child delivering a premature baby during the process of abortion. As per the doctors report, inducing delivery with medical methods would best do the abortion. The doctors said that in case the abortion isn’t successful, they would have to resort to hysterectomy (removing the uterus).

Nagpur citizens to revel The Raaas Garba next year!
Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”
He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
