President-elect Joe Biden receives his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

United States of Americas President-elect Joe Biden, on Monday, received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc on live television. 

The 78-year-old leader said that he did the same to boost confidence of fellow Americans apart from being in a high-risk age group who can contract the virus.
Tabe Nasa, Head of Employee Health Services at Christiana Hospital in Newark, gave him his first shot of the vaccine.
Our frontline workers are national heroes, who put their lives in danger to save ours. I took my shot on live television to tell people that they will have to be prepared when it’s their turn. I trust experts, who cleared the vaccine; there is nothing to worry about, said Biden.
Dr Jill Biden, soon to be the First Lady of the United States, also took her first shot few days ago. I feel completely normal after taking my shot; I’m absolutely fit and fine, Dr Jill Biden
The President-elect further stated that massive production of the vaccine was under process.
Meanwhile, he advised Americans to avoid travelling and asked them to follow COVID-19 norms that stated maintaining social distance was a must.

Popular stand-up comedian and actor Raju Shrivastava (59) suffered a mild heart attack on Wednesday morning while working out at a gym in New Delhi. His team confirmed the same while saying, “Raju sir suffered a mild heart attack while working out. He is admitted to AIIMS, but he is doing fine. He is conscious.”

Reportedly Raju felt uncomfortable and collapsed while running on a treadmill in a South Delhi gym. He was immediately rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning – for the second time in almost two months. She took to her twitter account to share the same.

Earlier, the Congress leader had tested positive for the virus on June 3 this year when she’d written, “I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. Following all the protocols, I have quarantined myself at home. I would request those who came in contact with me to take all necessary precautions.”

Contaminated water gushes in 400 homes as nullah overflows in Nagpur’s Besa

Residents in several parts of Nagpur woke up to flooded streets and homes after heavy rains for past few days. When we spoke to a resident named Abhiram Shroti, a resident of Besa, who’s flooded house can be seen in the pictures above, he told Nation Next, “This is not the first time we have faced this. Even in 2018 we faced a similar issue in Besa. All the contaminated water seeps in the house from a nearby nullah. Around 400 families around me are facing the same issue. We tried talking to NMC officials and collector but in vain!”
