Hours after a 19-year-old succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday after being gang raped by four men in Uttar Pradeshs Hathras, three more including two minor were raped in the state. In a small town ? Balrampur ? just 500 km away from Hathras, a 22-year-old woman died after she was gang raped and tortured on Tuesday evening.
The postmortem reported confirmed that the woman was gang raped and had died due to multiple injuries. Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two people including a minor, who happened to be the brother of the victim for allegedly gang raping the 22-year-old.
The victim’s mother, who was weeping while narrating the incident, said that the men had drugged her daughter with a substance, after which she fell unconscious. She said a rickshaw puller threw her daughter outside the home. The mother further claimed her daughter could barely speak or stand as her back and legs were broken.
She said her daughter was crying incessantly and said, “Save me, I don’t want to die.Balrampur Police, denying the mother’s claim that the victim’s legs and back were broken, tweeted, In the said case, prompt action has been taken by the police with both the accused arrested. Details that hands and legs were broke is not true. The post-mortem report does not mention this.
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, After Hathras, another gang-rape incident has surfaced in Balrampur in which the woman died after torture. The BJP government should not attempt a cover up here like Hathras and should quickly take action against the accused.
Apart from this, two minor girls in UP, including an eight-year-old and a 14-year-old were in raped in Azamgarh and Bulandshahr respectively.
