Sachin Tendulkar to be in Nagpur for the concluding ceremony of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav

Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar will be in Nagpur during the concluding ceremony of India’s first multi-sport festival – Khasdar Krida Mahotsav. The confirmation of Tendulkars presence at the ceremony came at a press meet organised by the organisers of the festival.
The 20-day multi-sport festival which begins from May 6 will be inaugurated at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankarpur, by Pullela Gopichand (former badminton player and Chief National Coach Indian Badminton Team) and Sports Minister and Olympic medal winner Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
This is the first edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, which is the brainchild of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Khasdar Krida Mahotsav will consist of 20 games being played by 540 teams and will see a participation from around 25,000 sports persons. The games, which will be played during the festival include: Table Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, Wrestling, Cycling, Body Building, Walkathon, Basketball, Carrom, Skating, Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, Badminton, Hockey, Chess, Kabaddi, Lawn Tennis and Tennis ball cricket for men and women. A collective prize money of Rs 62, 82,200 along with 288 trophies and 2,285 medals will be distributed among the winners and runners-up. The 20-day festival will take place across the city at different venues.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
