SpiceJet flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur after pregnant passenger falls ill

A Gorakhpur-Mumbai SpiceJet flight, carrying 182 passengers and crew members, made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport at 12:32 pm on December 11 after a three-month pregnant woman onboard the aircraft fell ill. After The woman has been identified as Neha Vishwakarma (34).
Speaking to Nation Next, Dr Mohammad Ahtesham, Medical Emergency Therapist, at the airport said: “At 12:15, I was informed by the ATC of the emergency landing. When the flight landed at 12:32 pm, I went inside the aircraft to attend to the woman. The woman was semi-conscious and had developed altered sensorium (a medical condition characterised by the inability to think clearly or concentrate). Her blood pressure was also abnormal.
After giving her all the necessary medical aid onboard, we took her out of the aircraft and shifted her to the ambulance and put her on oxygen support. I along with my team and the woman’s husband then headed for Kingsway Hospital. When we reached Chhatrapati square, the woman’s blood pressure improved slightly. Till the time we reached Kingsway, the woman regained her orientation a little bit as well.”
Aejaz Shami, AGM, Marketing and Communications, Kingsway Hospital, said: “The woman had abdominal pain and was a bit disoriented. After the treatment, she started feeling better. As a precaution, she was asked to stay at the hospital for a day, but she wasn’t keen on staying. She has relatives in Nagpur, so she got discharged against the doctors’ advice and thereafter the couple went to their relatives’ place.”
The passengers onboard the SpiceJet flight had to spend several hours at the airport due to the emergency landing. The flight flew to Mumbai at 5:17 pm.

49-yr-old man dies while playing badminton in Nagpur

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend.
He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.

Nagpur declared ‘no drone zone’ on March 20, 21
Ahead of G20 meet in Nagpur, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwati Dorje, on Wednesday, said the city has been declared ‘No Drone Zone’ on March 20, 21. The development came in as a security measure for the large number of foreign delegates that will be in the city for the summit.
Any aerial objects including use of parachutes have also been banned.
