Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo and Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Pawar today said that hes not going to contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections so that two of his family members ? daughter Supriya Sule and grandson Parth Pawar (son of former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar) ? could contest instead.

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said, “I thought that already two members of my family are contesting polls this time and hence I felt this is right time to take decision to not contest since I already have contested 14 times in the past.

Parth is going to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as an NCP candidate from Maval constituency. Though the party hasn’t made any official announcement yet, senior party leaders in a meeting with Sharad Pawar finalised Parths name as a candidate.

Even before the party leadership considered him as a candidate, Parth had begun touring Maval. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, a senior NCP leader said, Almost all local leaders from Maval have backed Parths name and have told Pawarsaheb that he is the only candidate who can win the seat. If he is not given the ticket, any other candidate will be hit by factionalism, and we will lose the seat. We have managed to persuade Pawarsaheb to clear Parths candidature.

Nagpur railway station was flanked by passengers queuing up for refund of their booked tickets as several trains got cancelled, recently.

Nagpur railway station was flanked by passengers queuing up for refund of their booked tickets as the Central Railway and South East Central Railway have cancelled several trains, recently. Closure of several ticket counters at the east and west side of the station has added to the woes of the passengers.

The paucity of functioning tickets counters at the Nagpur railway station has put travellers in a fix as festivals like Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Christmas are around the corner. Even as government encourages people to book tickets online in order to avoid rush, a huge section of people, especially senior citizens, still rely on window ticket bookings.
