On Wednesday, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited BJP senior leader and outgoing finance minister Arun Jaitleys residence in New Delhi ask him to reconsider his decision to remain in the new government. Jaitley on Wednesday sent a letter to the PM saying that he?ll not be part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government” because of his health.
Jaitley, 66, had written, I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health and therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government. Jaitley had said that he’d faced some serious health challenges in the past 18 months.
Jaitley was in-charge of three ministries in 2014, namely – finance, defence and information and broadcasting. The former finance minister’s, who’s a diabetic, suffered health issues post a kidney transplant in May 2018.
