Pench Tiger Reserve’s famous ‘collarwali Tigress,’ who gave to 29 cubs and earned the title of ‘supermom,’ died at the age of 16 after prolonged illness on January 15.

As per officials, Collarwali Tigress also known as Mataram, had given birth to 29 cubs in eight litters during 11 years – between 2008 and 2018. 25 of the 29 cubs survived.

Alok Mishra, field director, Pench Tiger Reserve, said, “The tiger was ill due to old age. She was last spotted near Bhura Dev Nullah on January 14. She was spotted lying down. She was under the observation of veterinary doctors and was unable to walk. She passed away at 6.15 pm on Saturday.” He added: “The exact cause of the death will be known after a post mortem but prima facie it appears to be due to multi-organ failure caused by old-age.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
