Renowned violin maestro, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri TN Krishnan passes away in Chennai on Monday evening at the age of 92. Reportedly, people close to the musician informed that Krishnan was in good health. He felt ‘sudden uneasiness in the evening and died. 

 

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to pay his tribute to the legendary musician. He wrote, The demise of noted violinist Shri TN Krishnan leaves a big void in the world of music. His works beautifully encapsulated a wide range of emotions and strands of our culture. He was also an outstanding mentor to young musicians. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.

 

 

Born in 1928 in Tripunithura in Kerala, Krishnan learnt music from his father A Narayana Iyer. At the age of 11, Krishnan performed at his first solo violin concert.

 

 

Krishnan taught at the Chennai Music College and later held the position of dean at the School of Music and Fine Arts at the University of Delhi.

 

 

He was a recipient of several awards, including Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Krishnan is survived by his wife Kamala, son Sriram Krishnan and daughter Viji Krishnan.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
