Following a special request by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Mother Dairy will be launching ‘Orange Barfi’ in Nagpur on Ganesh Chaturthi. The local delicacy, which is prepared with the help of 25% orange juice and milk will help orange growers and dairy farmers according to Gadkari.
A Mother Dairy spokesperson told TOI: “The newly introduced Orange Mawa Barfi will be a true amalgamation of our brand’s goodness of milk and the very popular Nagpur oranges. We are hopeful that the unique offering will truly delight and will be a treat to the consumers.”
The Orange Mawa Barfi will be made of milk and orange pulp. The barfi will be available in pack size of 400 grams priced at Rs 220 per pack, which will have a shelf life of 9 days. The barfi will be available throughout Mother Dairy’s booth network in Nagpur.

To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”
He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
