Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally reached 85,463 on October 9 (till 5 pm) as 636 new cases were recorded in a single day. Also, 1271 COVID-19 patients recovered on October 9 taking the number of recoveries to 73,885 (Including home isolation recovered). The recovery rate for coronavirus in Nagpur now stands at 86.45%.
26 people succumbed to COVID-19 on October 9 in Nagpur district. Till now, 2,750 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the district. Out of these 2,750 people, 2,466 were from Nagpur district, while 284 belonged to other districts. Currently, there are 8,828 COVID-19 active cases in Nagpur district.

Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav had a ‘field day’ teasing his team member Shubham Gill after Tinder – a popular dating app – showed a photo of a girl with a placard on large billboards in Nagpur that read, “Shubman idhar toh dekh lo” (Shubman, have a look here).” Tinder was quick to capitalise on the joke and turn it into hoardings in Nagpur ahead of India first Test match vs Australia.
Taking to twitter, Yadav wrote, “Poora Nagpur bol raha hai, Shubman Gill ab toh dekh le.”
