After Rhea Chakraborty, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), as per sources, might soon summon Bollywood actresses Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor in the coming week. The NCB enquiry started months after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14 this year after WhatsApp chats of Rheas phone revealed conversations linked to procuring drugs for Sushant.
There were reports that the name of actress Rakul Preet Singh was also mentioned in one of the interrogation of Rhea by NCB.
Reportedly, the names of Sara and Shraddha cropped up after the NCB interrogation of Rhea, who was arrested on September 9 for alleged charges of procuring drugs for her late boyfriend Sushant.
Zee News reported, As per NCB sources, the agency will send summon under Section 67 of the NDPS Act to both the actors.
As per ANI, actress Rakul Preet Singh moved to the Delhi High Court seeking directions not to telecast or publish on TV channels and other platforms any content related to the narcotic drugs case that maligns or slanders her image.
BREAKING: Bombay High Court grants bail to Anil Deshmukh in money laundering case
Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to former Maharashtra Home Minister and senior NCP leader Anil Deshmukh (72) in money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). However, Deshmukh would continue to be lodged in judicial custody in Arthur Road jail as he is also being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged corruption case.
Justice NJ Jamadar pronounced the order at 2.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Deshmukh and his associates have been investigated for alleged corruption between 2019 and 2021. Deshmukh was arrested in November 2021. While senior Advocate Vikram Chaudhari with advocate Aniket Nikam appeared for Deshmukh, a team of Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh with Advocates Aditya Thakker, Shreeram Shirsat and Amandeep Sra appeared for the central agency.
The bail was granted on a surety amount of ₹1 lakh. The ED has sought a stay on the operation of the order for two weeks. Deshmukh’s lawyers said that considering the former’s health and the fact that he had no criminal antecedents, he should be granted bail.
