Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Sunday, said that Nagpur would have India’s first-ever Inter Modal Station. Also, he said that Nag river rejuvenation was his dream project and in the coming five years, it would facilitate water taxi rides for Nagpurkars.
Gadkari said the same while addressing a press conference in Nagpur on Sunday evening. Senior leaders of the state along with Mayor Tiwari were also present.
Rs 1700 crore were approved for the Nag river project. To see dreams and to complete them is also a big task. Nagpur already has road, railway and air transport. This project will add water transport to the list, said Gadkari.
Speaking on the environmental issue, he said, We will use CNG to power the machines. We will also make sure that minimum trees will be cut, moreover, we will replant them along the national highway.
The land near Ajni, which belonged to Central Jail, Maharashtra government and Central government would be procured for development of the station. Food mall, e-rikshaw charging, shopping malls and bus stations would be constructed to generate revenue for Nagpur.
As per Gadkari, five districts near-by Nagpur would have a metro station in the coming five years, which would directly connect them to the city. The metro would operate at a speech of 146 km/hr charging the same rates as Maha Mandal buses.

Nagpur citizens to revel The Raaas Garba next year!
Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”
He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
