Nagpur: Over 1200 food delivery boys to be tested for Coronavirus

To keep a check on all the food delivery boys in Nagpur, who?ve been asked to work despite the lockdown, from getting infected with Coronavirus, the district and magistrate collector of Nagpur Ravindra Thakare ordered testing of around 1200 delivery boys from Wednesday, March 25. The test will be conducted at MLA Hostel in Civil Lines under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Jaiswal and Dr Sanjay Selokar.

A team of five doctors led by senior doctor Nitin Gulhane Dr Saral Deshmukh, Pragya Ramteke, Dr Afsan Tabassum, Dr Prashant Giri, Dr Shishir Goswami and Dr Prashant Hiwarkar have been appointed by the health department to conduct the tests.

Fortunately, on the first day of test, 300 delivery boys from Zomato and Swiggy were diagnosed and had no symptoms of the virus. The boys, luckily, didn’t even catch fever, cough or cold (few of the most common symptoms of Coronavirus)

After the test, the doctors guided the boys so as how to take necessary precautions and avoid getting infected by the virus. All the boys have been asked to wear masks, gloves and sanitise their hands before taking the food packets from the hotels. They?ve been asked to maintain a safe distance from the customers while handing over food packets. Also, stress has been laid on online payment system over cash on delivery.

The Raaas (2018)

Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”

Rotary Club of Nagpur Vision’s (RCNV) Padharo Mhare Des was held at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur, on September 25, along with Winter fellowship cum Official Club Visit 2022-23 for RCNV. The theme of the fellowship was to showcase rich heritage and culture of different states of India.

The occasion was graced by DG Dr Anand Jhunjhunwala, first lady Monika Jhunjhunwala and AG Kamlesh Chotwani. On the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, different states came together to show their culture. It was beautifully showcased. PDG, Dr Satish Sule as Yamraj & Pawan Mangolia as Narad with their performance wooed the audience.

This was made possible because of our competent team leaders Bhagyashree Saoji and Priyanka Sharma (Rajasthan), Rutika Kunawar and Dr Puja Poddar (Team Tamil Nadu), Sonal Singhvi (Team Bengal), Rashmi Shahu (Team Maharashtra), Pramod Batra and Sakshi Sharma (Team Punjab), who in spite of their busy schedules made this possible. The beautifully choregraphed act was a result of hard work done by Richa Bhattad, Sonal Singhvi, Rashmi Shahu and Abhishek Ghatode. Honourable DG performing with Maharashtra state enthralled the audience.

Such flawlessly executed event was possible only because of very efficient team mentored by Project Director Pawan Mangolia and Nitya Agrawal who worked tirelessly on the minutest of details to give a memorable evening. Aesthetic decor by Priya Tatiwar dazzled the event.
