Nagpur man accidentally shoots friend dead while flaunting his new air gun

In yet another bizarre case of murder, a 40-year-old man named Pankaj Vilasrao Vani, while showing off his new air gun, accidentally pulled the trigger and shot his 42-year-old friend Lokesh Jangulji Gajbhiye near Gittikhadan, on Friday afternoon. 

Vani, a resident of flat no 603, B Wing, Kanyakapuram Society, Gittikhadan, had invited over his friends Lokesh and Hitesh Meghram Badge on Friday.

At around 3 pm, while showing-off his gun to Lokesh, Vani accidentally pulled the trigger and shot him on the left side of his head. 

Lokesh was seriously injured during the incident, and was rushed to Mayo Hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.

Based on a complaint filed by Gita Vasanta Patil (52, resident of Bhivsankhori), a case was registered against Lokesh at Gittikhadan Police Station, under Section 304 (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Deaf and dumb students put up scintillating show at Radio Mirchi’s ‘Utsav @ Zero Mile’ in Nagpur

Amid heavy rains, Nagpur citizens drenched themselves in patriotism during ‘Utsav @ Zero Mile’ organised by Radio Mirchi on Sunday, August 14. What made the event all the more special was when several deaf and dumb students of Deaf and Dumb School, Shankar Nagar, gave a splendid performance on national anthem that reverberated patriotic fervour. Apart from them, students from Delhi Public School also left people completely mesmerised with their incredibly soothing performance with various musical instruments.

Ex-Indian Idol contestant from the city Kaivalya Kejkar regaled the audience with songs including ‘Maula Mere Lele Meri Jaan’ from Chak De! India.
