Nagpur goon pulls woman’s hair, thrashes cop in broad daylight

Mera naam yad rakhna, ghar me ghus ke marenge, police ki kuch nahi chalti (Remember my name, will break into your house and kill you. The police can’t do anything), a dreaded goon, identified as Rajkiran Rajhans, claimed after harassing a female teacher in broad daylight on Friday at Bal Udyan  in Seminary Hills, Nagpur.

The woman, a resident from Shantinagar, had come to visit a kindergarten in Gittikhadan area, along with her family on the occasion of New Year’s Eve.
While returning home, Rajhans, accompanied by two more goons, dashed the victim’s vehicle from behind and pulled her by her hair on the street.

The goons, later, started thrashing the male members of the victim’s family, who tried to protect her from them.

After the victim’s family started shouting for help, the goons also thrashed the traffic police, who attempted to rescue them.

The accused also threatened to break into the victim’s house and kill her brother stating he had no fear of police.

As the situation worsened, the cops present informed the Police Control Room (PCR) and two goons were apprehended by Gittikhadan Police.

Based on a complaint filed by the woman, Rajhans and his accomplice Rakesh Raut, were arrested by the Gittikhadan Police, on charges of harassment and molestation, under Section 345 (Wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.

The Raaas (2018)

Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
