Nagpur: Goods worth Rs 6,53,000 stolen from shop in Empress Mall

Electronic goods including mobile phones, laptops, hard disks and mother boards worth Rs 6,51,000 and Rs 2,000 cash was stolen from a shop in Nagpur’s Empress Mall during wee hours of Tuesday.

As per the police, the owner of the shop Vishant Rajkumar Meshram (31), a resident of Bhim Chowk in Nagpur, closed his shop no 118 in Empress Mall at 11 pm on Tuesday.

When Meshram returned on Wednesday morning to open his shop, he found that glass door of the shop was open and goods were stolen from his shop. On the basis on Meshram’s complaint, Ganeshpeth police have registered a case against unidentified theives under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend. 

He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.

Nagpur declared ‘no drone zone’ on March 20, 21

Ahead of G20 meet in Nagpur, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwati Dorje, on Wednesday, said the city has been declared ‘No Drone Zone’ on March 20, 21. The development came in as a security measure for the large number of foreign delegates that will be in the city for the summit.   

Any aerial objects including use of parachutes have also been banned.
