Nagpur college student duped of Rs 38 lakh on pretext of partnership in Goa casino

A 21-year-old Nagpur college student and his friends were duped of Rs 38 lakh by fraudsters in February 2019 on the pretext of partnership in a casino in Goa and jobs at ITC. Nagpur’s Ambazari Police have booked five men namely Suhas Thakur, Munna Yadav, Prajwal Dhore, Vatya, and Shriom Gautam on basis of a complaint by the student ? Hitesh Bharadkar ? and are investigating the case further. 

As per reports, Hitesh, who hails from Chandrapur, stays a rented home in Ambazari for his studies in the city. In August 2019, Hitesh came in contact with Thakur, who is a history-sheeter. Thakur told Hitesh and his friends that he owns a casino, a brick factory, and a ITC dealership in Goa. Thakur offered partnership to Hitesh and his friends at the casino and brick factory and jobs at ITC. 

Hitesh and his friends fell for Thakurs lies and gave him Rs 38 lakh in one month. However, when Thakur did not deliver on his promise, Hitesh and his friends approached him and asked to return the money. It is then when Thakur threatened them with a knife and revolver. Thakur also started visiting Hiteshs apartment with his friend to threaten him. 

A fed-up Hitesh approached Ambazari Police in February 2020 to complain about Thakur. Then due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Hiteshs friend went back to their respective cities. After they back, Hitesh and his friends approached Nagpur Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who asked Ambazari Police to book and arrest the six men.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend. 

He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.

Nagpur declared ‘no drone zone’ on March 20, 21

Ahead of G20 meet in Nagpur, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwati Dorje, on Wednesday, said the city has been declared ‘No Drone Zone’ on March 20, 21. The development came in as a security measure for the large number of foreign delegates that will be in the city for the summit.   

Any aerial objects including use of parachutes have also been banned.
