Nagpur college student duped of Rs 38 lakh on pretext of partnership in Goa casino

A 21-year-old Nagpur college student and his friends were duped of Rs 38 lakh by fraudsters in February 2019 on the pretext of partnership in a casino in Goa and jobs at ITC. Nagpur’s Ambazari Police have booked five men namely Suhas Thakur, Munna Yadav, Prajwal Dhore, Vatya, and Shriom Gautam on basis of a complaint by the student ? Hitesh Bharadkar ? and are investigating the case further.

As per reports, Hitesh, who hails from Chandrapur, stays a rented home in Ambazari for his studies in the city. In August 2019, Hitesh came in contact with Thakur, who is a history-sheeter. Thakur told Hitesh and his friends that he owns a casino, a brick factory, and a ITC dealership in Goa. Thakur offered partnership to Hitesh and his friends at the casino and brick factory and jobs at ITC.

Hitesh and his friends fell for Thakurs lies and gave him Rs 38 lakh in one month. However, when Thakur did not deliver on his promise, Hitesh and his friends approached him and asked to return the money. It is then when Thakur threatened them with a knife and revolver. Thakur also started visiting Hiteshs apartment with his friend to threaten him.

A fed-up Hitesh approached Ambazari Police in February 2020 to complain about Thakur. Then due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Hiteshs friend went back to their respective cities. After they back, Hitesh and his friends approached Nagpur Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who asked Ambazari Police to book and arrest the six men.

The Raaas (2018)

Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”

On the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, different states came together to show their culture. It was beautifully showcased. PDG, Dr Satish Sule as Yamraj & Pawan Mangolia as Narad with their performance wooed the audience.
