On Saturday, Santosh Totwani, a Nagpur businessman who survived coronavirus, became the 1st COVID-19 survivor from the city to donate his blood plasma for a clinical trial to treat critically ill coronavirus patients.
Totwani, who test positive after he returned from Delhi in March, was discharged from GMCH after recovery on April 10. Along with Totwani, who was the 5th coronavirus patient in the city, his 14-year-old son, his wife and his elderly mother too had tested positive for the virus and were discharged after recovery.
Totwanis sample was collected on Saturday afternoon by a team from GMCH at Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank situated at Laxmi Nagar. Totwani reportedly got a call from GMCH 20 days back asking him whether he would donate his plasma. Totwani agreed and the sample was taken. As per reports, other patients who have recovered in Nagpur are also being counseled to donate their blood plasma.

Purva Kothari’s jewellery collection sparkles at ‘Intrea’ exhibition in Nagpur
Amid festivities, jewellery designer Purva Kothari conducted a two-day exhibition of diamond studded jewellery at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery in Nagpur on October 1 and 2.
Purva, in the past, has enticed celebrities including Director at Reliance Industries Nita Ambani, Varsha Patel wife of former minister Praful Patel, Founder at Videocon Venugopal Dhoot, Founder Chairman at GMR Group GM Rao and endorsements from Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saina Nehwal, to name a few.
