Nagpur boy Rishikesh Buty wins four gold medals at National Skating Championship

Rishikesh Buty, an 8-year-old student of Bhartiya Krishi Vidya Bhavan, bagged four gold medals at the recently concluded 18th National Speed Skating Championship 2017 at NIT International Skating Rink, Nagpur. The championship, which saw around 400 participants (Age 6 -14) from different states of India, was organised by Speed Skating Federation of India (SSFI) and Hilltop Public School, Nagpur and was inaugurated by Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Rishikesh, who competed in the 6-8 years age category, won four gold medals in inline skating in four races namely Time Trial, 500 meters, 1000 meters and Relay Race. For winning four medals he was handed over a trophy by Parineeta Fuke, Director, Hilltop Public School and his skating coach at Shivaji Skating Club – Krishna Baisware. Rishikesh credits Krishna Baisware, Priyanka Baisware, Vaishnavi Naidu, Alok Jha, his father Rahul Buty and his school faculty for his success.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
