Students in government run schools in Madhya Pradesh will now have to say – Jai Hind – instead of saying Yes sir/maam, while answering their daily attendance call. The order for the new rule was issued on Tuesday by School Education Department of the MP government. The new rule will come into effect from July 1 when the schools will reopen after the summer vacations.

The order signed by Pramod Singh, Deputy Secretary, School Education, reads, It has now been made compulsory for all 1.22 lakh government schools in state to answer attendance roll calls by saying Jai Hind instead of yes sir/ma’am. This is the decision taken by state government to instill patriotism among students.”

Ananya is aware of the fact that showbiz is a very tricky business: Chunky Panday

Chunky Panday

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer ‘Liger’ turned out to be a failure at the box office. It was Vijay’s debut in Bollywood and Ananya’s first bilingual film too. But the film didn’t shape up the way it was expected and even Ananya’s father-actor Chunky Panday agrees to it.

Talking about Liger’s failure, Chunky expressed, “Any actor gives his or her 100 percent to a film. And after you finish it, you go out of your way to promote the film. And these days promotional activities are a trend where you even go into masses urging fans to watch it. But sometimes things go wrong and we are depressed about it. And it’s okay, that’s an obvious reaction for any actor to feel devastated. Success or failure can happen with any film, an artist has to live with it and just move on. I’m sure my daughter (Ananya) is aware of the fact that showbiz is a very tricky business.”

Having said that, Chunky feels that one should not ‘overconfident’ or ‘underestimate’ anything in the film industry. “On a film set, almost around 400 people work. And as an actor, we don’t get to see each and every thing as a whole. We are aware of only portions of what’s happening but we don’t know what’s going to be the end result. So, it’s better to take things as they come,” Chunky stated.

Sharman Joshi

Sharman Joshi came to fame with romantic-comedy ‘Style’ (2001), his first hit. But, he was already a known face by then with few films to his credit. However, the actor was still trying to set his foot in the industry and had his share of struggle too. In a recent interview, the actor remembered his struggling days.

The ‘3 Idiots’ actor used to call the director for work in those days. “There was a director, who used to have telephone numbers of many directors from Bollywood. I took the list from him and would call them on their landline as those were ‘no mobile’ phone days. One thing that helped me big time was my background in theatre,” shared Sharman.

But Sharman also confessed that some directors’ would also be considerate. “When I would call the directors and they would talk very respectfully, some even called for a meeting. See, people from showbiz business understand what it takes to be here. So whether you work together or not, that doesn’t really matter. In fact, even today, I just pick up the call and dial to people I want to work with,” said Sharman who made his debut in Bollywood with Godmother in 1999.
