WINNING MOMENT: Mexico’s Andrea Meza being crowned as Miss Universe 2021 by former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa

Mexico’s Andrea Meza was crowned as the 69th Miss Universe during a three-hour televised competition, which was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood in Florida. Andrea, who was crowned by former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa, beat 72 candidates to win the crown. Andrea is the third Miss Universe from her country, the other two being Lupita Jones (1991) and Ximena Navarette (2010).

While Miss Brazil Julia Gama and Miss Peru Janick Maceta del Castillo were announced as as 1st and 22nd runner-ups rescpectively, Miss India Adline Castelino and Dominician Republic’s Kimberly Perez were announced as 3rd and 4th runner-ups respectively.

Priyanka Nahata Jain launches kid’s journal ‘THE LIL LUCKY FEET’ as she turns 30 | Nagpur

As Nagpur resident Priyanka Nahata Jain turned 30, she took her friends by surprise with the launch of a kids journal titled ‘THE LIL LUCKY FEET’ – for kids aged between four to eight and eight to 13 years – launched by her daughter Krisha.

The journal focuses on how kids can develop fresh prospective and help them create a thinking pattern that will make them want to explore and question life. Priyanka said, “It’s a self reflection and self assessment journal, in which kids learn about themselves that make broadens their prospective.”

Mahima Chaudhry graces Miss and Mrs India Queen of Nation beauty pageant in Nagpur…

Magenta Arts & Entertainment organised Miss and Mrs India Queen of Nation Season 2 2022 at Hotel Le Meridian in Nagpur on Tuesday. While actress Mahima Chaudhry was the judge, actor Aman Verma hosted the pageant show.  

Speaking about the event, organiser of the pageant show, Monica Ganvir said that she aimed to encourage every woman who dreamt big. She said she wanted to provide a platform to such women in Central India so that they could showcase their hidden talent. 

Post auditions, around 18 contestants across India got qualified. The event that lasted for three days in Nagpur included various activities like talent round, fitness round, photoshoot, personal interview and ramp walk.

India’s longest surviving tiger passes away in West Bengal

Raja, India’s longest surviving tiger, passed away on July 11 (Monday) at South Khairbari (SKB) Tiger Rescue Center in West Bengal.

Forest officials pay their respect to ‘Raja’ after his demise

Raja, India’s longest surviving tiger, passed away on July 11 (Monday) at South Khairbari (SKB) Tiger Rescue Center in West Bengal. Raja was 25 years 10 months old.

Forest department informed: “With a very sad heart, this is to inform you that ‘Raja’ the tiger from SKB Rescue Center, died today morning around 3 a.m. He died at the age of 25 years and 10 months making him one of the longest surviving tigers in the country.”

Raja was brought to the SKB Tiger Rescue Center in North Bengal in August 2008, after being injured by a crocodile in a territorial fight. Veterinary doctor Pralay Mandal along with Wildlife Guard Partha Sarthi Sinha and other staff members, with utmost dedication and labour, had then healed the magnificent beast at South Khairbari.

Raja was almost 11 years old when he was bought to SKB rescue centre, and there he survived for another 15 years, making him one of the oldest surviving tigers in the country.
