Former cricketer Prashant Vaidya, on April 12, inaugurated the office of the 20-day sports festival ? Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Glocal Square, Sitabuldi, Nagpur. Present during the inauguration were Sandip Joshi (Ruling Party Leader and Convener of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav), MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh and Dr Mlind Mane, MLC Anil Sole, Corporator Rupa Rai and Arjun Award recipient Vijay Munishwar.
Speaking about India’s first multisport festival, Vaidya, said, This sports festival is a really good initiative to indulge our countrys youth in different sports. It’s great that this event is not just restricted to popular sports but also includes other games.
MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh during his address mentioned about the games to be played in Khasdar Krida Mahotsav. These games include: Football, Kho-Kho, Tennis ball cricket (men), Tennis, Basketball, Carrom, Skating, Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, Badminton, Hockey, Chess, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Cycling, Girls cricket, Wrestling, Bodybuilding and Walkathon.
While Khasdar Krida Mahotsav will be inaugurated at Yeshwant Stadium on May 6, the festivals song and logo was unveiled recently on April 8.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
