Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday appealed people to transform India into a sports-playing nation from a sports-loving nation. Tendulkar said the same after inaugurating the SMAAASH centre at Seawoods Grand Central Mall in Navi Mumbai.

The DNA quoted him saying, I always mention that India should become a sports-playing nation. We are a sports-loving nation but we need that transformation where we start playing. Healthy competition is always good.

He added, Physical fitness and mental fitness combined together, makes a healthy man. I remember when I was a kid, my grandmother telling me health is wealth.

Sachin, while addressing a huge gathering at the mall post inauguration, requested them to adopt a sport of their choice and play it on a regular basis. After the crowd got uncontrollable and started chanting the famous slogan, Sachin, Sachin, Tendulkar nostalgically said that he felt as if he was back in the stadium.

Tendulkar concluded his speech by urging people to lead a healthy lifestyle and said that a healthy and fit India would have more reasons to smile.
