Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh accused former chief minister of Maharashtra and former home minister of state Devendra Fadnavis of misusing its government machinery. Deshmukh accused the then Fadnavis led government of tapping and snooping the phones of its then Opposition leaders. Deshmukh has also ordered an enquiry in this regard.

Deshmukh said that the government is also trying to find the officers, who were then reportedly sent to Israel to study the snooping software. He said, “Maharashtra Police’s cyber cell is going to look into the various complaints of phone tapping and snooping especially during the government formation (Maha Vikas Aghadi) in the state. The inquiry is being done after complaints of snooping on opposition leaders.”
