‘Drishyam’ director Nishikant Kamat passes away at 50, confirms Riteish Deshmukh

Director of super hit movie Drishyam and Force Nishikant Kamat passed away at the age of 50. Kamat was undergoing treatment in Hyderabad for cirrhosis of liver after he suffered a relapse. Actor Riteish Deshmukh confirmed the same on twitter.

Kamat passed away in afternoon at Hyderabad; this body would be brought to Mumbai soon. The renowned director was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad on July 31 following jaundice and abdominal distension.
The actor-director launched his directorial debut with a Marathi film, Dombivali Fast, in 2005. Becoming one of the biggest hits, the film ruled the Marathi box-office that year. The movie also won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2006.
Kamat hit the limelight after he directed the Hindi remake of Malayalam hit Drishyam, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in 2015.
He also acted in various films like – Saatchya Aat Gharat (Marathi), Rocky Handsome (2016), Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Fugay and Julie 2.
Kamat was also the creative producer of web series The Final Call and Rangbaaz Phirse.

Lyricist Santosh Anand who wrote the famous song ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai,’ which was sung by veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, broke down in tears while speaking about Lataji’s death on February 6. The hit song is from the film Shor (1972), which featured Jaya Bachchan and Manoj Kumar.

Amitabh Bachchan visits Lata Mangeshkar’s residence in Mumbai to pay his respects
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan visited late Lata Mangeshkar’s residence at Peddar Road in Mumbai on February 6 to pay his last respects to the veteran singer. Lata Mangeshkar will be creamted with full state honours at Shivaji Park in Mumbai at 6:30 pm on February 6.

Breaking: Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar dies of heart attack at 46
Actor Punneth Rajkumar, who was a superstar in the Kannada film industry passed away on Friday, October 29.
The 46-year-old superstar died of cardiac arrest. At 11 am today, he was hospitalised in Bengaluru after complaining of severe chest pain. Punneth Rajkumar was the son of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai shared this news on his Twitter account.
He wrote, “I am deeply shocked that Kannada celebrity Shri Puneeth Rajkumar died of a heart attack. The death of Kannadigar’s favourite actor, Appu, hascaused enormous loss to Kannada and Karnataka and I pray that God will have mercy on his soul and give his fans the power to endure this pain.”
