Dhruv Shorey’s unbeaten ton help Delhi put up a good total against Vidarbha on Day 1

At the final Ranji Trophy game between Vidarbha and Delhi at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium today, Vidarbha had a great start. Winning the toss, Vidarbha opted to bowl first. This decision proved right just in the first over itself when Vidarbha bowler Aditya Thakre dismissed Delhi opener Kunal Chandela for a duck on the fourth ball of the match. Delhi had lost four wickets in just under 100 runs with Delhi batsman Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana and Rishabh Pant (Captain) returning to the pavilion after scoring 15, 21 and 21 runs respectively. Dhruv Shorey, who came into bat after Chandela’s dismissal, along with Himmat Singh took the team total beyond 200. Singh was dismissed by Rajneesh Gurbani thereafter at 66. Shorey not only scored a century but was unbeaten on Day 1 at 123. Delhi’s total at the end of Day 1 stands at 271 runs with the loss of six wickets.
While Vidarbha bowlers Aditya Thakre and Rajneesh Gurbani picked up two wickets each, Siddesh Neral and Akshay Wakhare picked up one wicket each.
