COVID-19 bed crisis strikes Nagpur again, patients share same beds at Nagpur GMC
The crisis of shortage of beds for COVID-19 patients in Nagpur has once again reminded the city of the panic faced last year during the first wave.
With a surge in patients on a daily basis, Nagpur’s Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) has been finding it difficult to make beds available for its patients.
Not just GMCH, even otherwise, private hospitals have echoed the panic faced last year.
On March 25 this year, multiple patients in the above pictures could be seen sharing beds with other COVID-19 patients at GMC. However, it has been said that beds were made available to all patients late night.
On Friday, March 26, Nagpur district recorded highest-ever single-day spike with 4095 cases.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.
Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
