In a heartbreaking incident, a 3-day-old baby and the babys mother both tested positive for COVID-19 at a hospital in Mumbai’s Chembur. The father of the baby has blamed the private hospital for his wife and babys infection claiming that both were kept in the same room as that of a COVID-19 patient.
The man, a resident of Chembur, had last week admitted his pregnant wife at the hospital, where she gave birth to a healthy baby. To the familys dismay, a coronavirus positive patient was allegedly admitted in the same room shortly afterwards.
The father has claimed that he was never informed that the person admitted in the same room was coronavirus positive. In a video, which has emerged online, the father claimed that he was later called by a doctor from the hospital to tell that a coronavirus patient had been in our room and that he cannot visit his wife and baby.
The new-born and the mother are now at Kasturba Hospital getting treated for coronavirus. The father has appealed PM Modi and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray for good treatment for his family and action against the hospital in Chembur.
