Court rejects Aryan Khan’s bail calling him ‘influential person who can tamper with evidence’

Magistrate Court on Friday, October 8, rejected the bail of Aryan Khan along with two others in Mumbai drug case.

The court stated that since Khan, who’s son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, cited that Aryan was an influential person who could tamper with evidence.’

Ayan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde argued, “There is no material (against me), even in messages.I am a 23-year-old with no prior antecedents. I happen to be from Bollywood. I went on an invitation, refused when asked if I had drugs. Data from my mobile has been retrieved and sent for forensics. I’ve been found with nothing; not even an ounce but so much capital is being made out of it.”

Maneshinde further stated Aryan, who owns an Indian passport, has deep roots in the society as his family lives in Mumbai. He argued,”I (Khan) am not going to abscond. There is no question of tampering. I should be granted bail.”
Arguing for the NCB, Advocate General (AG) Anil Singh said, “What will have to be considered is how influential the people are. There is a chance of tampering (evidence). This is not an isolated case and any sort of protection in the nature of bail would hamper investigation.”
Maneshinde reacted, “Even if they want to say I (Aryan) will tamper with evidence, they should come with a positive case of how I will do it. Just bald allegations! Just because I come from an affluent family doesn‘t mean I’ll tamper with evidence. What influence have I used I am suffering from the last six days.”

Advocate Taraq Sayed who appeared for co-accused alongside Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, vehemently denied the allegation of recovery of 6gm contraband from Merchant.

While demanding access to CCTV footage of the incident, he said, “I am shooting myself in the foot if contraband is found.”

Maneshinde, had earlier said, “Khan went to study abroad and returned only three to four weeks back. They’re (NCB) levelling very serious allegations against him. But, it has to be supported with evidence. The court can look through the chats.”

He further said, “What is to be seen is the recovery. The NCB have been interrogating two young boys on the premise that in the future they are going to consume 5 mg of charas. Is this what the department has come to? So it is not NCB’s case that Khan was going to sell it in the ship… If he wants he can buy the entire ship.”

Aryan has been sent to Arthur Road Jail for a 14-day custody.

In the most unbelievable incident ever, four men were arrested for allegedly raping a Bengal monitor lizard in Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR). The reserve is spread over four districts of Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

The gruesome incident took place at Gothane village in Ratnagiri district on March 31 when the four accused illegally entered Chandoli National Park (part of the reserve). One of the four was also carrying a gun for hunting.

The Maharashtra Forest Department checked the mobile phone of one of the accused and that’s when he learnt about the incident. The officials found the recording of the act, which showed the accused allegedly gang-raping the monitor lizard.

A forest official said the four accused were identified as Sandeep Tukaram Pawar, Mangesh Kamtekar, Akshay Kamtekar and Ramesh Ghag.

The official said, “During the investigation, the forest officials found that the accused had allegedly raped a Bengal monitor lizard. Their act was also recorded in a mobile phone of one of the accused persons. We have recovered all the related evidence from the accused and they were granted forest department custody initially, but are out on bail now. They have been asked to mark their presence before the forest officer, who is probing the case, every Monday.”
“The four accused have been booked under various sections of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972,” said field director of Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR), Nanasaheb Ladkat.
