Could have saved Pramod Mahajan had I been allowed to touch him: Shiv Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire

Chandrakant Khaire said that late BJP leader Pramod Mahajans life could have been saved if he was allowed to touch him on his deathbed.
L to R: Pramod Mahajan, Chandrakant Khaire

Shiv Senas Lok Sabha MP from Aurangabad Chandrakant Khaire said that late BJP leader Pramod Mahajans life could have been saved if he was allowed to touch him on his deathbed.

Khiare said the same while addressing a health camp on Saturday, which was attended by doctors. He further claimed that Mahajans case was his only failure. He even narrated an incident where he once miraculously healed a woman who was unable to walk.

As per Indian Express, Khaire was quoted as saying, Faith works wonders in healing. I’ve healed several people this way. I feel the pulse of that person and then chant a secret mantra. I had reached Mumbai after hearing about attack on Pramodji. But, the situation was such that nobody was allowed to touch him and hence I couldn’t touch him and heal him.

Khaire further gave a bizzare statement by saying that Mahajan could survive 12 days in hospital despite being hit from a point blank range was only because a small amount of vermilion (kumkum) from Ambabai Temple was placed under his pillow. Khaire said that he had handed the vermilion to Mahajans son Rahul after late Gopinath Munde urged him to do something to save Mahajan.

He said that Mahajans was the only case where he failed. The Shiv Sena leader said, Just like doctors posses knowledge, we posses the power of goodwill. I’m not saying this out of any superstition, this really works.

BREAKING: Bombay High Court grants bail to Anil Deshmukh in money laundering case

Radhika Dhawad | Mumbai

Anil Deshmukh

Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to former Maharashtra Home Minister and senior NCP leader Anil Deshmukh (72) in money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). However, Deshmukh would continue to be lodged in judicial custody in Arthur Road jail as he is also being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged corruption case.

Justice NJ Jamadar pronounced the order at 2.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. While senior Advocate Vikram Chaudhari with advocate Aniket Nikam appeared for Deshmukh, a team of Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh with Advocates Aditya Thakker, Shreeram Shirsat and Amandeep Sra appeared for the central agency.

The bail was granted on a surety amount of 1 lakh. The ED has sought a stay on the operation of the order for two weeks. Deshmukh’s lawyers said that considering the former’s health and the fact that he had no criminal antecedents, he should be granted bail.

Deshmukh and his associates have been investigated for alleged corruption between 2019 and 2021. Deshmukh was arrested in November 2021.

And that’s how a film is made – Kantara shows the way! | Movie review

Nation Next Newsroom | Bengaluru

Kantara poster

Social media is buzzing with one word today and that word is Kantara! Yes, another Kannada film after KGF that has caught the people’s fancy and how. In fact, this one goes a notch higher than KGF – because the film has been released only in Kannada with English subtitles and yet – the movie is capturing the hearts of people across India and the world.

From California, London and Berlin to cities across India, high praise is pouring in for the Rishab Shetty starrer and the actor-director’s Twitter feed is testimony to this. Ordinary cine-goers are putting screenshots of housefull bookings, sharing videos of people clapping and whistling in theatres and then profusely thanking the star for making this film.

So, what’s this film about? Kantara (which means forest in Sanskrit) stands out because it has powerful storytelling at its core. It is rooted in local folklore, has the right amount of action and adventure and comes with a social message too. Man versus nature, native customs and local politics, which spans three timelines and a climax that’s to die for, is what the film’s about. Add to this some superlative performances by the cast, a stellar background score by B Ajaneesh Loknath and mind-blowing cinematography by Arvind S Kashyap that serenades Karnataka’s rustic locales and you have what can be called the perfect recipe for a blockbuster film. Telling you more will just be a spoiler! So, what are you waiting for? Go watch!
