Coronavirus: Schools, Colleges in Maharashtra to remain shut till March 31

The Maharashtra Government announced on Saturday that all schools, colleges, training institutes and anganwadis in urban areas will remain shut till March 31 as the number of Coronavirus cases in state increased to 26.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope made the announcement in the Assembly as he said, All schools, colleges, training institute, anganwadis in urban areas will remain closed till March 31. All examinations, except that of Class X and XII, stand postponed. Private coaching classes have also been asked to shut down.

Out of the 26 cases of Coronavirus in Maharashtra reported so far, 10 are from Pune, five from Mumbai, four from Nagpur, two from Yavatmal and one each from Panvel, Ahmednagar, Kalyan and Navi Mumbai.

Civic authorities covered the incomplete under construction work of Poonam Towers, situated bang opposite Vidhan Bhavan at RBI Square, on Friday ahead of the C20 meet in Nagpur scheduled on March 20 and 21.

The building owned by renowned builder N Kumar, whose construction has remained incomplete over two decades, it popularly known as ‘Bata building’ in the city.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend. 

He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.
