To fight the outbreak of Coronavirus, Maharashtra Chief Minister on Sunday informed that section 144 will be imposed in all cities of the state from Monday (March 23). The imposition of the section 144 will put urban parts of the state under a virtual lockdown till March 31.
Thackeray also said that the number of government employees working in offices would be cut down to 5% instead of the existing 25%. For the uninitiated, at 74 till now, Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Thackeray congratulated the people of Maharashtra on the huge success of Janta Curfew as he said, We have entered the critical stage where the patients suffering from the virus not only add but may multiply as per the trends worldwide. It is of utmost importance that we pass through this stage successfully and safely. Therefore, while congratulating the people of Maharashtra on the huge success of the janata curfew, I urge them to not go out even after 9 p.m. or tomorrow (Monday).

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
