Chennai-Delhi flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur after passenger gets critical, dies later

A Chennai-Delhi IndiGo flight 6E ? 6235 made an emergency landing in Nagpur on Saturday morning after an elderly passenger got critical onboard. The 65-year-old passenger named Chotu Singh Yadav, who was suffering from lung and skin cancer, was later taken to GMCH, where was declared brought dead.

Speaking to Nation Next, Emergency Therapist Mohammad Ahtesham, employed with Kingsway Hospital, which manages medical emergencies at the Nagpur Airport, informed that he received a call at around 9:42 am from duty terminal manager Nikhil Yadav about the patient and the emergency landing.

Ahtesham and his team reached the aircraft at around 9:52 am with the ambulance. IndiGo aircrafts door was opened at 10:02 am after which Ahtesham entered the aircraft and examined Yadav. As the elderly man did not respond, he was shifted to the ambulance. Ahtesham started the emergency management monitors and even performed the CPR, but Yadav did not respond.

Yadav was then taken to GMCH, where Ahtesham informed the doctors of the patient’s medical condition. The doctors examined the patient and declared him brought dead.

Ahtesham informed that Yadav was a resident of Gaya and had gone to Christian Medical College in Vellore for treatment for the advanced stage of cancer.

Since The Raaas enchanted and enthralled Nagpur with its quality garba in its first year in 2018, the demand for encore has been reverberating the city. To cater to the huge public demand, the organisers of the king of garbas have decided to continue The Raaas next year on. Like its first year, The Raaas Garba will be presented to Nagpur in association with Nation Next in 2023. Mahesh Kukreja, the key organiser said, “Because of some reasons, we, earlier, thought of giving the event a break.”

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
