Centre allows COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners residing in India
In a progressive move towards curbing the spread of deadly Coronavirus, the Union Health Ministry, on Monday, announced that foreign nationals residing in India are now eligible to take COVID-19 vaccine.
Passports of foreign nationals would be used as identification document just as Aadhar, which is being used for Indians for vaccination.
This drive is only open for foreign nationals above 18 years of age and slot booking will happen through CoWin portal.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared this news on his Twitter account. He wrote, Together We Fight, Together We Win Govt has now allowed foreign nationals residing in India to register on CoWin portal and take #COVID19 vaccine. This will ensure overall safety from the transmission of the virus.
In a press release, the ministry mentioned that till date, India had administered more than 51 crore vaccine doses across the country. It further mentioned that a significant number of foreign nationals were living in India, especially in large metropolitan areas.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.

Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
